What happens in London

Ok, being as honest as I can, my confession for this week is that I’m always ill when I go to London. I don’t know why it happens, it just happens!! It’s a constant thing, on the plane, at the airport, in the city, wherever I am in London, I’m always sick!

Sometimes I feel that I’m allergic to London, but that’s just plain stupid right? I mean no-one is allergic to a city; something’s that are common allergic things are peanuts, dust, and well, I don’t really know any others, but you know what I mean.

Every time my sister says that she really wants to explore more of London (because we haven’t really explored all the areas in London,) I say “NO!” and then my sister gets annoyed.

“We can’t go to London because Katy is always sick there,” my mom says.

“Ok, that is the worst excuse I’ve ever heard!” my sister would say back.

“I can’t help it! It just happens!” I reply.

So you see what I mean about London. But it might be because of all the pollution, there is quite a bit in London, and a lot of smoking. But please don’t make this confession make you not want to go to London. It’s a great city! It only happens to me, I don’t know if you will be ill their too, but you just have to try.

PowerPoint experience

When I’m bored, I’m blank. Nothing comes into my head, NOTHING! I sit silently on my bed, thinking of what I could do.
I decide to go on my laptop. I go on my laptop a lot, but today I didn’t feel like it, but since I had nothing else to do, I went on it.
Now, what should I do? Play a game online? Check face book? Or just paint a picture on paint? I was clueless. At the time, I was just thinking about rollercoaster’s, but how could that cheer me up if I’m on my computer? If only I could do something that is all on rollercoaster’s? I look at all the icons on the desktop; Word, publisher, and then I saw PowerPoint. Maybe I could do PowerPoint! I clicked on it. Loads of tools and buttons were right in front of my eyes. I started to type.
“Rollercoaster’s”
“By: Katy Williamson”
I started to add more color and pictures to the slideshow, and then it started to form a full presentation. I was really enjoying it! I wasn’t bored anymore!
After that day, I realized that if you’re bored, you need to do something you enjoy, and when I did my first PowerPoint, I knew that I would be doing a lot more! (I’ve done about 20 PowerPoint’s now)
P.S: with experiencing this, I’ve decided that I might become a graphic designer. A good one. (Well… I hope.)

The Freedom

To learn,
To walk, to talk,
To eat, to sleep, is mine and every
Young child’s right. I think each child should
Have the freedom to enjoy the journey,
To discovery and knowledge.

Innocence to me is hard to let go.
I need to grow mentally and physically.
My parents tell me, in serious tone:
“You grow through adversity.”
I now know I have to suffer in order
To gain the experience to live my life
fully. It doesn’t sound like much fun.

I always thought everyone in the world
was great until Holly took my pencil-case.
She swore she never took it;
Do I believe her?
I have that freedom of choice.
I feel very fortunate to have that choice, but
I still don’t know whether I believe her.

When I was six, half my lifetime ago,
I decided I wanted to maybe be a nurse. I was
going to help so many poor souls.
For years I felt that I could probably do this,
until one day I cut my finger rather badly and fainted.
Did you ever meet a nurse who fainted at the sight of blood?
My freedom of choice now leads me
down another path.

Ping. And idea pops into my bed.
Perhaps it would be a better idea
To wait and discover things I’m really
Interested in doing. Maybe helping other people
Not so fortunate as myself or something I’m good at.

Maturity will surely find a way.

Letter to Sofia

 K. Williamson
                                                                                                                                     512 Chocolate Lane
                                                                                                                                     Isle of Man, UK

Dear Sofia,

I hope you are doing well, I hope you still have a cheery disposition. I’m just writing to see how you are; you must send me your anthology of poems, because I just love reading them all the time!

Oh yeah! Remember the day we went to the beach? Well, apparently they found a dolphin! They conjectured that it lost its mother, and it didn’t know what to do.

Anyways, it’s imperative that you write back to me, because I really want to know how you are doing:). Tell me all about your summer, everything! I’m still sorry I haven’t written back to you in such a long time; I promise it won’t recur again. Oh yeah, I went to SeaWorld this summer, my love for rollercoaster’s was instilled there. I will love rollercoaster’s forever!

Please reply soon,

Katyxxx

Rollercoasters

Ok, one thing that I must say that I’m obsessed with is ROLLERCOASTERS! I just love them! But when I was about ten years old, I was absolutely petrified. I remember staring up at Kraken (one of the rides at SeaWorld) and just looked at my hands and saw my fingers shaking like crazy!
Now I’m sure tons of you love rollercoaster’s, but not as much as me. Every time my mom says we’re going on holiday, I always say this: “We have to go to a theme park!”
Now my sister enjoys rides too, but I remember the first day I went on a rollercoaster (which was Kraken) and I went on the ride eight times before my sister! Yes… eight times. I was very mad at her for this, I don’t know why, but I just was, probably it was because she was older than me.
Ever since the day I went on Mr. Kraken, I have been so deeply in love with rollercoaster’s, and that’s the truth.
P.S: please tell me what your favorite ride is!

Monopoly

It was mid-afternoon on a lovely Sunday evening, when a word popped into my head. Monopoly. I wanted to beat my very annoying dad, who wins every single time we play Monopoly. But today it would change. My mom was going to play alongside me, help me win, but of course I was playing against her too.

“Right, I’m ready.” My dad said.

“Good to know.” I said back with a grimace on my face.

The game was all set up. I rolled the dice. Seven; whoopee! NOT. I moved. Now this time we played it was going to be different, because my dad always wins with the car, but no… I’m the car this time! My mom was the top hat and my dad was the iron.

I landed on a chance. “Take a trip to Trafalgar Square.” I read. I moved my car to the property.

“I’ll buy that!” I said looking very happy. My dad looked a little annoyed. He knows that I want to beat him; I think he’s scared. (I hope he is anyway…)

We carried on with our turns. It was pretty even. But the big thing now in the game was there was £900 in the free parking!! I was very annoyed now, because if my dad got that money, I would kill him!! Now I’m not very lucky with the free parking, so since me and my mom were sort of working together, I didn’t mind if she got it.

“Come on mum! Roll an eight!” I said excitedly. She rolled. Eight!! £900 for my mum. But I really wanted that! Now my mum is very generous, she bought “The strand” for me, which was the other red property I needed. (it went with Trafalgar Square). My dad was not happy now, I could just tell.

But as the game progressed, my dad was being very lucky, and he has TONS of houses!! I was so out. But my mum got out before me. I was really scared now… I had hardly any properties, and I had to work my way passed my dads. But in the end I gave up, because I landed on Mayfair (the most expensive property) which had three houses on. £1100 I had to pay him? YOU CAN FORGET THAT! I was depending on my mum to help me win, or her win, but no… my dad won again.

Oh, in case you were wondering, after the game, me and my mum went online and typed this into google: “HOW TO WIN MONOPOLY EVERYTIME!”

Getting ready for P.E.

It’s a normal day outside, but it’s raining. I’m in English, writing and writing with my pen held tight in my hand. I have P.E. For my next class; I’m doing soccer at the minute, but since it’s raining with tears, what will we do today?

It’s 11:09, time to go. I pack my laptop, papers and notebooks, and head downstairs. But before I go to P.E, I have a job of closing the light brown wooden boxes with everyone’s backpacks in them (well, not everyone’s). I throw my bag into the container and put my lunchbox on the side; then I just wait. I have to wait until everyone has gone, so then I can lock them.

About seven minutes later, everyone is gone and I lock the bins. Every day I do it, the 5th graders are still at lunch. It’s always noisy, and I overheard the teachers saying they will be getting assigned seats, since they couldn’t behave. I’m done locking the bins, and head to the gym.

When I arrive, everyone is in there waiting to go get changed. I go over to Paola (who sits in front of me) and sat down behind her.

“Group one, go get changed”. I heard Coach Scott yell. I’m in that group, so I got up and went to change.

Once I was changed, I went and asked Coach what we were doing.

“We’re playing soccer here in the gym.” He replied.

I go over to the far wall and wait to get picked onto a team. I heard Daniel pick me to be on his team, so I walked over and put on a yellow penny. But just when we were about to start, coach swapped me with Liz, so I walked to the other side of the court and was ready to play. (well, at least I think I was).
