Yesterday I was did something I haven’t done in ages… go on a boat. I haven’t haunted a boat actually, not in a while anyways… I went with Jaye; well she invited me to go with her. I was really excited to see the monkeys at Gamboa, I’ve done it once, but only once, and that was like two years ago.
When we left the dock, there was a small bridge that was very low, and we had to go under it. Now for a minute I didn’t think we would get under, but I standed incorrect… we JUST made it! Jaye’s dad whirled up the motor, and we were speeding down the canal. When you’re standing still, you can’t feel anything, but when you’re speeding down a canal on a boat, the wind is pushing you to the other side of the planet! But I was enjoying every moment.
Me and Jaye were taking loads of pictures, and her family brought these chips and they were absolutely, completely delicious! I couldn’t stop eating them! We fed those to the monkeys, but when we arrived, they didn’t seem to want much because there was a boat that was there just before us, and they fed them bananas, so they ate all of that. One part of the trip was really fun because I got to drive the boat! But the wind impelled the boat to the left a lot, so I had to be really careful.
Jaye’s parents were really nice, they weren’t irascible at all, or amiss. The drive to the island sometimes felt interminable, but I don’t really know why… on the way, Jaye’s dad was explaining a lot of interesting facts about the canal, he was definitely the sage in the family, well… at least for the canal.
I had a brilliant time with Jaye, and I really hope I’ll be able to do it again!
